How do I validate data?

After uploading the correct files a user can start the validation step by pressing the validate files button.
Once pressed the user will not be able to upload or delete any more files.  The validation process may take some time but you will be emailed when this is complete, alternatively you could press the refresh button on your screen.  The actual duration of the validation will depend on a number of factors such as the size of the file(s) uploaded and how many other validations are taking place at the same time.
 
If the validation is unsuccessful the email notification sent to the user will explain this. More information will be available from the bulk upload page in your establishments record.  You can click the link "full results" and this will provide you with a report containing full details of all errors and warnings.  In order to proceed the user will have to delete the file that failed validation, correct all the errors and any warnings and upload the file again.
 
Once the validation is successful the email notification sent to the user will list the names of the establishments which will be updated, deleted or created and how many workers will be created or deleted as a result of the upload.  Full results can be found on the "Bulk Upload" page.  The validation results should be examined carefully by the user to ensure that they have achieved what they expected from the upload.  If this is what the user expected they can then proceed by clicking the import files button.  If not the files must be deleted, corrected and re-uploaded and the validation process re-run.
