How do I set up a Parent - Subsidiary Structure?

Organisations need to decide which of their establishments is to be the "parent" establishment.
This would typically be the head office or HQ.  Once the parent establishment has completed an NMDS-SC return for its own establishment, it can apply online to be a parent.
 
Requesting parent status
 
If your organisation consists, for example, of a head office with subsidiaries, the head office will need to request "Parent" status, so that your subsidiaries can link themselves to it or the head office can create subsidiaries (by individual Online entry or via the Bulk Upload Tool).
 
Requesting "Parent" status is done from the My Establishment Page by clicking on the Edit link next to "Is a Parent", click "Apply to be a Parent establishment" link, this will send a message to the Skills for Care Administrator.  Skills for Care will approve your request to be a Parent and you will receive an email saying this has been approved.  On your menu you will notice a new tab called "All Establishments", in here you will be able to see all your subsidiaries once they have selected you as their parent.
