This year's Workforce Development Fund (WDF) is now available - claim money towards developing your employees

One of the key benefits for our account holders who keep their accounts up to date, is the opportunity to apply for money towards training and developing your staff.

The Workforce Development fund is now open and Skills for Care is encouraging all eligible employers to apply.
To access this money you need to be:
  • an employer in adult social care operating in England
  • meet the NMDS-SC requirements
  • have workers who have completed eligible qualifications or learning programmes between 1 January 2018 and 31 March 2019

What you can claim for

The WDF contribution depends on the size of the qualification or learning programme.  All qualifications and learning programmes are funded up to the value advertised in the link below and a maximum of £1,200 can be claimed per learner per funding year, which runs from April to March.  Click here for a full list of all funded qualifications and learning programmes and the amount of funding you could receive, if eligible.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

  • Log into your NMDS-SC account
  • On the left hand side of the screen, click 'Reports'
  • On the centre of the screen, 'click here to view my reports'
  • Click on 'My Workforce Development Fund NMDS-SC Requirements Report'. This is a live report which will show if you're eligible, and there are links available in the report to help you see where there are gaps in your data.
